Tim Hortons Vegan Options in Canada
Tim Hortons has no labelled vegan menu in Canada. Vegans can still build a decent order: black coffee, tea, and lattes made with oat or almond milk at no extra charge.
Food is harder. Tim Hortons tested plant-based sausage twice, and neither version was vegan as served. Here is what we found and what to check before you order.

🥛Oat, Almond and Soy Milk
Oat milk has been available in any hot or iced drink at all Canadian restaurants since December 2021, according to VegNews. Almond milk is also offered, and soy milk at select restaurants.
In February 2025, Tim Hortons confirmed it was dropping the plant-based milk surcharge in Canada and the US. Before that, guests paid up to a dollar extra in drinks like lattes.
Pro Tip
If the board or app still adds a charge for oat milk, mention the 2025 change. Prices can lag at some restaurants.

📜Plant-Based Sausage at Tims
Tim Hortons has tried plant-based meat twice.
2019: Beyond Meat
Tim Hortons tested Beyond Breakfast Sausage in 3 items, including a fully plant-based Beyond Meat Vegan Sandwich, then expanded across Canada. It removed the Beyond items in 2020, citing lower demand.
2022: Impossible Sausage
In March 2022, Tim Hortons launched the Harvest Breakfast Sandwich and Harvest Farmer’s Wrap with Impossible Sausage. Neither was vegan as served; VegNews said you could order them without egg, cheese and chipotle sauce.
We found no plant-based sausage on the October 2026 Canadian menu listings we checked.

🥯Food: What to Check
We could not confirm any Tim Hortons food item as vegan from official sources. Bagels, hash browns and veggie wraps look like candidates, but recipes can include milk, egg or other animal ingredients, and shared equipment applies.
- Look up each item in the allergen guide for milk and egg.
- Ask Tim Hortons Guest Care about animal-derived ingredients the guide does not cover, like honey or gelatin.
- Skip butter and cream cheese on bagels.
- Remember that milk and egg-free does not always mean vegan.
